How to Remove the Metal Center Cap on Your Olympia Vial

If your medication ships from Olympia Pharmacy, your vial arrives with a small metal center cap covering the rubber stopper. Here's how to remove it before your first injection.

If your vial arrived from Olympia Pharmacy, you'll notice a small metal center cap covering the rubber stopper. It's just the little metal disc in the middle of the top, not the entire plastic lid. This is normal. It's a tamper-evident seal that needs to come off before your first injection.

Watch the short video below for a step-by-step walkthrough:

Quick Steps

  1. Find the small tab on the edge of the metal center cap. It sits in the very middle of the top of the vial and is easy to miss if you aren't looking for it.

  2. Lift the tab with your thumbnail or the edge of a key, and peel the center cap off.

  3. The rubber stopper underneath stays in place. That's the part you'll wipe with an alcohol swab and insert your needle through.

Once the center cap is off, you don't need to remove it again. The rubber stopper is self-sealing and can be punctured multiple times for each of your scheduled doses.
