Can I switch between tirzepatide and semaglutide?

Yes, you can switch between tirzepatide and semaglutide — but give your current medication a fair chance first, and start the switch well before your next refill.

GLP-1s take time to work, and switching too soon or too often makes it harder to see results. If you have given it adequate time and still want to change, here is how.

Timing matters

A switch applies to your NEXT order. Once an order has been sent to the pharmacy it cannot be changed, returned or refunded, so start the process well before your refill date to avoid a gap in treatment.

You can keep using your current supply while the switch is being set up.

How to switch

  1. Cancel your current treatment plan in the patient portal: Log in → Treatment tab → find your plan under "Your plans" → tap Manage → More → Cancel plan.

  2. Navigate to the ‘Shop’ tab in your portal to locate the new medicine and add to cart from there. A short health check-in may be required at time of purchase.

  3. A provider reviews the change and sets up your updated plan, including your starting dose on the new medication.

Your provider sets your transition dose

Tirzepatide and semaglutide doses are not one-to-one equivalents, so your dose does not simply carry over. When you switch, your provider chooses the right starting dose on the new medication based on your treatment history — it is often not the same number of milligrams you were taking before.

Good to know

Belle offers compounded injectable tirzepatide and semaglutide only. We do not offer oral or pill-form GLP-1s — ask your primary care provider about brand-name oral options.

If you asked to switch before a shipment went out and it shipped anyway, message us and we will look into what happened and make it right.
