Glutathione side effects and what's normal

Glutathione is generally very well tolerated. Most side effects are mild and happen at the injection site.

Common and usually temporary

  • Minor redness, swelling, or tenderness where you injected

  • Occasional nausea or headaches, especially in the first few weeks

Contact us if

  • Injection-site reactions are significant, painful, warm, or not settling within a day or two

  • You notice signs of an allergic reaction such as rash, swelling, or trouble breathing. For breathing difficulty or facial swelling, seek emergency care first

  • You have asthma and notice any chest tightness or wheezing. Stop and contact your provider right away
