How to update your payment method or fix a failed or declined payment

This guide shows you how to add or change the payment method on your account, and how to retry a payment that failed or was declined.

Update your payment method

  1. Sign in, select the person icon, then select Account.

  2. Locate the Billing tab and find the Payment method section.

  3. Select Add (or Edit if you already have one on file).

  4. Enter your new payment details and select Save payment method.

Good to know:

  • Your account keeps one payment method on file, and it is used for every plan on your account. Saving a new one replaces the old one everywhere.

  • You can save a card and several digital wallet options. Affirm and Klarna cannot be saved for automatic renewals (more below).

  • A payment method must stay on file while any plan is set to renew, so the remove option is unavailable until you have no upcoming renewals.

  • If you moved from the old Belle portal, your card did not transfer (for your security), so you will need to add it once here.

Why payments get declined

  • Your card has expired or a number was entered incorrectly.

  • Insufficient funds at the time of the charge.

  • Your bank flagged the charge as unusual and blocked it. This is common with recurring or telehealth charges. Contact your bank and ask them to approve Belle as a recurring merchant, then retry.

  • The billing address on file does not match your card.

  • The card does not support recurring or subscription payments.

Fix a failed payment

  1. Open your plan page under Treatments, or open Orders. A failed payment shows a clear notice on both.

  2. If your card changed, update your payment method first (steps above).

  3. Select Retry payment. When it goes through you will see: "Payment received. Your renewal is back on track."

In many cases we also retry automatically on the date shown in the notice, but you can retry sooner yourself at any time. If your payment still will not go through after updating your card, message us through Chat and our team will help.

Paying with Affirm or Klarna

These services approve one payment at a time, so they cannot renew your plan automatically. When your renewal comes up you can either select Pay renewal now and check out with your preferred method, or save a card on file so future renewals run on their own.
